  1. Can I just let you know that last Thursday I saw a white van acting suspiciously in The Close. It had the words The Red Cross stencilled on the side in red and the man driving the van was wearing a red short sleeved polo shirt. Many of the residents in the Close are having work on their houses and I was concerned that he was trying to steal tools left on the verges. He realised I was watching him and left after half an hour without visiting any of the properties. I hope this could be of some help. Pat Fulk.

  2. I would also advise against leaving dogs unattended in gardens. THe dog press is warning that dogs are being snatched from gardens and it was reported that eighty were found on a traveller’s site in SUFFOLK. microchips help to establish ownership , but the loss of a beloved family member is devastating, particularly when one hears that some stolen dogs have been used as bait in dog fighting. PLease also be aware that the law classifies dogs as ‘chattels’ ie possessions

  3. I Would like to add that the ‘fashionable’ crosses seem to be particularly desirable to thieves. FRiends in AShington who own a very flashy and handsome dog were shadowed by A blacked out RANGEROVER full of men who followed them into a housing estate as they strove to avoid attentuon
