Oxoncroft, Ifold Bridge Lane, RH14 0UJ

Ref. No: 20/01225/FUL | Received: Tue 19 May 2020 (Link)

Change of use of land and buildings from agricultural storage to B8 use, associated with the operation of a forestry and tree surgery business, the temporary siting of a mobile home for a period of 3 years, siting of septic tank and replacement gates.

IEL strongly objects due to this site being accessed through the residential private roads of Ifold. Daily movements of these industrial scale vehicles and timber loads (from a contract with Chiddingfold Forestry Commission) would be a danger to residents and existing users: pedestrians, equestrians, cyclists of the private roads (actually bridleways & footpaths).

  1. Thank you for speaking on behalf of all the residents. Hopefully your prompt response and strong objection will do the trick.

  2. We pay enough for our road maintainance as it is and would be very unfair for others to use what we pay for .
I certainly do not support this application

    1. To be fair, the new owners have paid this year’s road charge but have not yet entered in to a deed of grant (easement) to secure access over the roads and the delay is on our side due to the concerns over the size of vehicles.

Hazel – if the presence of these vehicles is a concern to you, please consider making a comment here: https://publicaccess.chichester.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=QAKGTKERJES00&activeTab=summary

  3. Do their existing rights of way over the private roads extend to use by an increased number of vehicles and for a use different to the current use?

    1. IEL has not yet entered in to a deed of grant (easement) due to the concerns over the size of the vehicles. The property has no permanent access by agreement (or prescriptive rights) and IEL has no intention or obligation to enter in to a deed.

  4. Please do not destroy bridal way and very very quiet hamlet with lots of children running about .!!
This is awful and very distressful .!!

  5. Extremely concerned with these proposals

Our roads are small (almost single lane) and have no pathways. As said before the road is the pathway and bridleway

Traffic movements are less with the lockdown although an increase in vans and delivery vehicles

Once things become more ‘normal’ traffic will increase and having additional lorries will just not be good for safety of all residents, especially children, families and those with dogs

    1. I agree whole heartedly with what Gary Paddock has said. I don’t think we want businesses like this to start in Ifold, especially in this quiet part.
